Never made it to Huddersfield Town FC's former Leeds Road ground where they played their last home game on 30-April-1994. However, we have been to their new ground [which is within spitting-distance of the old] a couple of times following Northampton Town FC away and it really is a smashing place to visit. We first visited in the days when it was still called the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday 23-Mar-2002 and the stadium design setting is really striking. It is sited in a 'bowl' of land that cuts into the verdant Kilner Bank behind, a lyrical architectural experience indeed. As to the game itself, both teams were in EFL DIV 2 in those days and Cobblers got beat 2 - 0, but we enjoyed the visit nevertheless Subsequently the fortunes of both clubs led in differing directions, with Cobblers continuing to flounder around in the EFL basement whereas Huddersfield managed to raise themselves to the giddy heights of the Premiership for a time.

Nice stadium and like the outdoor plan for food and drinks. Not a massive stadium by any stretch of imagination. Friendly staff and the area is modern with the usual high street amenities. About a 15 mins walk fro the train station. Great idea to sell hot dogs and pies for 1 on exiting after the conclusion of the match.
