I think the big bald guy would prefer to choke slam you rather than let you through his barriers. There's a cute cat. The guys that sell coffee on platform 1 are nice. The ticket machines don't work properly. Fake police fine smokers outside. 10/10 the quickest way out of town (as long as the trains aren't cancelled)

In addition to the usual stuff you find in a station, there is a piano which people waiting can play and a world famous cat, Felix who has over 100,000 Facebook followers. Can be a bit grim and cold if your waiting for a train in the middle of the night though. Direct trains to Manchester Airport.

Met the wonderful Felix as I passed through the station. Cheered me.up after a cuddle .

The station itself is quite nice. Two pubs,.newsagents, refreshment kiosk, and warm waiting areas. Sadly Transpennine Express are not very reliable. Four cancelled trains with less than two hours.
