Very beautiful castle and garden. Worth a visit.
Beautiful surroundings with a 16th century Swedish castle. In the summer it's host to several events among which is a knights tournament, markets and concerts.
We made a point of visiting the castle during the time of the guided visit (every day at 2pm in summer, only in Swedish) and the hour spent wandering through the grounds of the fortified mansion and its rooms was a delight. Our guide, Annika, who doubles as castle gardener when she is not guiding visitors inside the mansion was very detailed and thorough in her narration of various episodes from when the castle was the property of the Ehrenborg family, until - in 1988 - the state agency for historical buildings took over and undertook renovation.
Hovdala Castle is a place with a nice big castle close to Hässleholm in Skane. Nice nature at Finja Lake.
Great hike!
An out of the ordinary castle dating back to the 16th century. Complete with bullet holes from the many wars between Denmark and Sweden. The castle is frequently host to different events during the year, such as medieval festivals, bat excursions and historic lectures. Has a restaurant and a cafe.
We took a brief visit as it was raining lots that day. Nothing we could visit inside of you don't get to come in time for the guiding. Nice and I'm sure you get much to see on a sunny day. If you love Batman and Dracula you got to see the exhibition. Love the red building called Orangeriet where they brought exotic plants when the Ehrenborgs owned the castle.
