This place is amazing!! Such good food! I had the Icelandic fish stew and it was out of this world. A little expensive, but priced similarly as any other high end seafood restaurant in the US. Def worth a visit!!

yes everything in Iceland is more expensive so i'd expected the food to be better too. I ordered the traditional fish stew what came out was fish mixed with mash potato. my friend had the chicken and the sauce was laced with anchovies which didn't go well.
My girlfriend and I ate here for lunch on our first day in Iceland. It was a very quick walk from the downtown hostel, had a beautiful view of the Old Harbor, and the daily specials were reasonably priced. I had the Mushroom Cream Soup and Beef Goulash, and my girlfriend had the fish of the day. The food was delicious and kept us full for the next four hours as we walked around Reykjavik. The service was also superb.
Fantastic food in an intimate setting down by the harbour. All courses were equally delightful and the service is great. Felt entirely worth the money spent. Seafood soup is top notch.
This was our first meal once arriving in Iceland. We could not have asked for anything more. The prices were on par with the rest of the places in the area and the food was Superior. We enjoyed a trout insides as well as pulled lamb and lamb lollipops. We also enjoyed a delicious bottle of wine that we could not find anywhere else I'm Island. It was a beautiful dinner and we would highly recommend. We will definitely be visiting again soon!
We had a wonderful dinner. We had a delicious meal with great service. We chose the set menu. My wife did not want to eat lamb for the third consecutive night but it was perfectly alright to change to duck. The food was cured reindeer, seafood soup, lamb/duck and ice cream with chocolate fondant with raspberry. And since today is "Bolladagur" in Iceland we had an extra dessert "bolla". We were all very satisfied when we went back to our hotel.
My husband and I worked with Brynjar for a year planning our wedding reception at Hofnin. He was very responsive and helpful along the way. His team showed us special care and over the top service for our big day. We used the upstairs space to hold our party and the view is absolutely incredible. We had areas to sit down and chat along with our dinner tables. They created a beautiful menu of hors d’oeuvres and drinks for us. They made us feel so special on this day and the cozy, warm atmosphere here along with the fresh, elevated Icelandic food made for a perfect wedding reception. We couldn’t have chosen a better place. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Greatest stop by the harbor. Best fish stew of your life. All fresh food, great service.
