Tanimura-san is the 20th generation to continue the craft of chasen-making in his family. For 3,000 you get to watch him make a bamboo whisk from scratch and some matcha to make tea with (with his chasen of course). The journey to Takayama (50 minutes from Nara City by car) is well worth the experience.
