What a fantastic traditional pub food/restaurant with the harbour twist (plenty of seafood). I loved having so many options for food and at such a reasonable price for fresh home made food! Amazing setting, and such a quirky interior. The service was also fabulous. The perfect end to a wonderful break in North Devon.

Top notch ambiance, great service by pleasant staff. Excellent covid safe arrangements in place. Whitebait tasty and not at all greasy. Garlic prawns delicious Lamb shank so tender it fell off the bone. Surf & turf done to perfection

I feel truly sorry for anyone who walks out of The Smugglers Inn thinking they’ve had an authentic, exciting seafood experience. I got the Fish pie and honestly counted 2 pieces of white fish amongst the heaps of leeks and overpowering cheesy mash. My girlfriend got the Swordfish steak and it might as well have come out of John West tin; dry and flavourless. It’s our own fault really, should have known by the number of children in the place. This is a family fun, novelty decor restaurant but it is not the home of good seafood. Go if you want a quirky atmosphere and quick service. Stay away if you’re looking for anywhere near fine dining. (Covid regulations didn’t not ruin the overall experience).

Went here tonight greeted by a lovely young lady who made our reservation. Waited a little while. We enjoyed some fabulous food. Waitress was so attentive will definitely come back. Thankyou xx
