I came looking for copper but I found gold. Over my years of travel I have searched far and wide for hidden gems of architecture, but until this day I never thought I would find something so playful yet breathtaking. I wasn’t prepared for this lovely view to have such an effect on me and I feel as though a piece of my heart has been left and that it has filled the hole. I am counting the days until I can return 5/5

Best hole in any wall in Ilkeston.
Wow. What a place, incredible architecture and the experience was next level. This hole is a beautiful piece of architecture and Ilkeston should be proud. Anyone who has not yet been should go. My entire world view has been rocked.
Decided to go thinking it would just be a hole, stayed there all day, this hole is truly a magical portal to a whole new realm. Stayed there all day but eventually got sent away by the party poopers who work in the bank next door. Kids enjoyed the gift shop and wife enjoyed the coffee shop. Fun for the hole family ‍‍‍
After reading the reviews of this place I was confused - confused how a hole in a wall could be interesting or even life changing. Nevertheless I gave it a shot. After having enjoyed the ample space for parking, I have finally arrived at this magical place. And I must say, all of my doubts were washed away, as soon as I could see it with my own eyes. Just exisiting near it, filled me with unspeakable calmness and peace of mind. I give it 5 stars, even though I was unable to find the rave on my first visit!
I thought in was only a big hole in a wall, but it was fare from the truth. I go through the hole and was in another dimension. Very interesting to be. 10/10.
Great time while Me and My dad were reporting to Natwest for Credit card fraud on Christmas eve, I always wondered why it didn't fill itself, but then... A universal thought strook me it actually filled my heart and the passion towards architecture. As i dolphin dived towards that hole to avoid my problems and eternal sadness, i passed the hole entering another dimension, possibly the 4th dimension...? IS THE HOLE A BLACK HOLE?!
Even during the darkest days of the Covid-19 pandemic, I'm pleased to say that the Hole-in-the-wall is still open despite other local attractions such as Alton Towers being forced to close. The calm serenity of the ancient monument relaxes all who visit, no need to put up signs regarding face masks or staying 2m apart, when you get there it's like the hole-in-the-wall speaks to you and tells you to relax. A truly mystical and spiritual experience and well worth ditching my trusted Ford Escort on Pelham St and tackling the epic climb to reach it.
