This department has unfairly fined me 1,000 and my license was unfairly suspended. Almost 2 years ago...I was told by a rep on the phone a certain procedure to renew my license, which I did. Almost 2 years later they sent me a letter informing me of a fine for 1,000...which did not explain why. I look it up online...and find out that it was because I followed the exact procedure that I was told, saying it was wrong!! I’m trying to work to feed my family during this COVID pandemic and now is dealing with this!! I can’t reach anyone about this fine. I see why this department has such low rating on google. Update: I found out that they had been sending me several notices and a court order to address the accusation by my email, including a court date, etc. and I was missing them. The email address I had with them I get 130 emails a day so I didn’t see them. I just wished I was sent them by regular mail and I would have responded. Anyway once I found out, I was treated very well to resolve the issue and I got my suspension lifted and I’m back to working. Make sure you check your email for any emails from Illinois.gov so it won’t happen to you.

I wonder why IDFPR has a 1.5 star rating. This department is unprofessional and far from etiquette. No one here has an answer, creating a fraudulent and deceptive place of business, can't even contact me back to answer my questions I inquired about days ago. A bunch of lazy and indifferent workers hired here. Simple licensing examination questions cannot be answered and supervisors can't even give me a straight answer and they just refer to people above them? How is this department still up and running?

It's wonderful to see how my tax dollars are wasted. I renewed my license and paid the fee SEVEN MONTHS AGO (they happily cashed my check) but did not update my expiration date in the system. So here I am-- t-minus 2 weeks until I can no longer legally work--and NO ONE is answering the phone or responding to my emails to literally change 1 number in the system. I have insurance panels threatening to drop me and my employer saying I will be suspended without pay if my license lapses all because of this department's incompetence. Way to go, IDFPR.

I have had more than negative experiences... I have been literally on the phone with them over 15 times and left many messages in the last several weeks trying to get answers... the people that answer the phones are not helpful at all, then supervisors do not call back. I can tell you how many times I have heard, \I don't know\ or \its not updated\.. truthfully so unorganized and its clear they communication between departments is poor. They truly need to revamp their entire process... I hold licenses in another state, and I have never had this issue with them.
