Fun, unique, hole in the wall. The epitome of the term "dive bar". Mismatched decor covered in dollar bills and underwear. They have a bar cat and a pet lizard. Though I don't know if they're friendly....both were very busy ignoring us! Cheap drinks. Sometimes they have entertainment. Definitely worth a stop on your next trip to the area.

This bar is one of the most interesting and fun places I've visited in a long time! A real hole in wall for locals and visitors alike. It epitomizes what Old Saint Pete is all about. Whether you are a local or visiting, definitely a must stop and see place. Parking is a little tricky, but well worth it. Keep your eye out as it's hard to see from the road. Multiple bars with live music at night. This bar is a hole in the wall with character beyond belief! Make sure you leave a memorable piece of clothing or a dollar bill & it and attach it to the ceiling before you leave. And whatever you do, make sure you say hello to Mama the owner ( that's me in the picture with her) and Ernest the Iguana! I LOVE this place!!
If you like dirt this place is for you. Very funky - which I like - but I couldn't get past how dirty everything was. Go late at night after many drinks.
The dive bar theme executed well. This place is what it is, with no apologies. A mishmash of whatever came in handy to put the place together. Live music sometimes, the jukebox the rest of the time. The beer is kept cold in 24 plastic coolers kept behind the bars, everything iced down by hand. The bartender the day I was there was terrific. Working everything by himself, he did well. Good job Chris.A nice break from the summer sun.
Go in with the lowest expectations, then lower them further. The ultimate dive bar. Good service, decent drinks, low prices. People of all ages come to enjoy the ambiance of this dump. Great live music some nights as well or take your turn on the digital jukebox. I’ve always had a good time. Never change Mahuffer’s.
Mahuffers is the definition of a dive bar and a good time. I always stop in when I'm out on the beach drinking. The staff are hit or miss some are nice others have been rude. The pricing is always fair and decent. It's definitely worth checking out if your into dive bars
