Saint Victor La Grand 'Maison is an exceptional estate on the border of Indre and Berry, in the heart of the Natural Regional Park of the Brenne. Its 16th century manor overlooks a small river, the Anglin and is surrounded by 12 acres of land and wooded hillside on which are built 7 outbuildings converted into independent cottages and 2 barns completely renovated for receptions and dinners in table d'hôte. The estate has 18 double or triple rooms, each tastefully decorated, and can accommodate up to 30 people in full privatization. The Grand 'Maison enters the family in the 80s, when Marie Rouet falls under the spell of the estate and decides, at 30 years old, to start a long renovation from Paris, before settling there definitively in 2008. Since then, the Grand'maison has been awarded several times by the most prestigious national and international rating organizations such as Fooding, Gîtes de France, Oliver's Travel, Booking.com or Trip Advisor. Today, the Grand'Maison wants to make the region live on the cultural and gastronomic level through residences of chefs and artists, but also to integrate more the domain with the local approaches around the rurality and the environment. To put the potential of Saint-Victor at the disposal of the creative minds and local actors of all kinds; this is the new ambition of Marie and her family which, in a long-term strategy, could develop new similar initiatives elsewhere on the French territory.
