Amazing scenery at the birch forest. The route to the forest is rather steep and slippery (during winter) along the way. Do take a walking stick at the entrance which will help to make your climb easier. Worth the effort to climb up to see such an beautiful birch forest.

Great morning hike to do if you’re in the Gangwon province. I highly recommend getting there early before the crowds of Korean tourist buses arrive (typically 10am). Both approaches are steep but it’s worth the reward when you get up there; over 700,000 Birch Trees with some great photo spots and we’ll preserved paths. Looks great regardless of the season.

If you have enough time and interesting birch forest or at last loved hiking, this place is not bad for you. Actually this place going to famous by tv show 'one night two days' location here. From parking place to birch forest are a bit far. Have 2 way to birch forest. One is a bit farther than other one. But walking up nice forest and have small stream and more fun. It take 1and 20min by slow and easy walking. Short way is just take 45min to birch forest but just boring. Aug 2016 road work for paved. So when it's done may have shuttle bus or some service to that.

눈이 없어서 아쉬웠지만, 이국적인 숲 역시 멋지네요ㅎㅎ 나중에도 개방을 하게되면 봄가을에 날씨좋을때 한번 더 와보고싶습니다 주차장에서 자작나무숲까지는 1시간정도 소요. 한바퀴돌고 사진찍고 내려오면 왕복 2시간 30분정도 걸려요. 입구 아래에 임시 주차장에 주차하시면 조금 더 걸어올라가는 것같으니 본주차장에 주차하시는게 좋을것같았어요. 본주차장에 주차하고 올라가려면 아침일찍 가셔야할것같아요 한달만 개방한다고해서 그런지 사람이 음청 많아요ㅎㅎ 자작나무들 건강히 잘지켜지면 좋겠습니다

생각했던것 보다 더 괜찮아서 깜놀. ㅋㅋ 숲 입구에 있는 주차장이 생각보다 작았어요. 당연히도 11시30분에 도착했는데 주차장은 꽉 차있었고 주변 커피숍이나 식당들도 주차장이 부족하네요. 그래서 도로변에 주차하고 트래킹 시작! 올라가는 길이 두개인데 한쪽은 차로 갈 수 있을만큼 정비가 됐지만 비탈진 길. 다른 한쪽은 비포장 구불구불길숲길. 당연히 후자로 걸어서 올라가길 추천 드리구요. 내려오는 길은 알아서 내려오시면 됩니다. ㅎㅎ 1시간 쯤 비포장길 걷고, 40분쯤 산길 올라가시면 '아 이래서 내가 이 고생을 했구나!'하실겁니다. 즐 트래킹 하세요

꼭 가보시길 추천하고요. 입구 주차장에 차를 두고, 약 501시간을 올라가야 합니다. 코스가 2개로 나눠져 있는데, 가급적 올라가실 때는 아랫쪽 코스를 통해 숲으로 가시는게 편리할 거에요. 윗쪽 코스는 자작자무숲을 둘러보고 내려오는 길에, 지친 몸을 내려가는 경사에 맡기는게... 더 쉽게 하산(?)하는 방법일 거에요.
