We were on a ski trip and staying in Gorham NH when we decided last minute to try and summit Mt. Washington. But we are not stupid and realized we would need a guide especially for a winter ascent of this dangerous mountain. After not being able to get a guide through another service I called International Mountain Climbing School and they were able to hook us up with Dodge Garfield and we were able to summit the mountain via the Lions Head Winter Trail the very next day. All of the staff at IMCS was really great and Dodge was a particularly awesome guide. He kept us safe. Kept us on schedule so we were able to summit during the best possible conditions. He taught us specific things about Mt. Washington and about mountaineering in general especially related to the use of crampons and ice axes, etc. Also, the equipment that IMCS provided us with was great and made all the difference. It was hard......really hard.....but it was an incredible experience and I am thankful that we had Dodge and IMCS to help us get there safely.

Amazing store, amazing staff. Did a full day intro to ice lesson with Paul, one of the guides at IMSC. Paul showed me the ropes, safety, and etc quickly and efficiently as possible. Within minutes of hitting the mountain, I began ice climbing. It was the exact experience I was hoping for and an amazing thrill. Paul was brilliant and helpful throughout the day. IMCS and IME are two, joint, awesome organizations. Would recommend to anyone looking to have any kind of mountain experience!
Amazing store. You have to check it out and meet Rick Wilcox who is an author, climbing legend, life saver, and a great sales consultant when trying to find the right gear for Mount Washington. The gear I bought made my climb so much nicer then the two previous climbs of Mount Washington.

We hired a guide from here to take us up Mt. Washington in the winter for the first time. The price included the rental of our crampons, boots, and ice axes. Our guide was Johnathan and he was great. The day before, they went through all of our gear and rented us anything we didn't have. It was overall a great day and experience.
