AVOID this company, charged my son over 300 for damages which he had not caused. Budget/Avis finally supplied information re 'damage' 3 months after charge, of blurred image of a central windscreen chip. (This only occurred after repeated requests to customer service). This damage would not have occurred without them knowing. A lesson to always get extra insurance but NEVER with the car rental company !

Website was a bit poor, the deal offered was for a car but when booked it was a van! arrived expecting a small van but ended up with one the size of a transit... it was good, and ok for 2 of us blasting round the lochs but they use the term “similar” a bit too loosely! the Merc has a cubic size of 3.5m vs 8 in the peaugot so over double the size....
Never, ever, EVER hire from these guys (or Avis Inverness- same company)! Decided to hire a car. Mission out to the Inverness airport on a bus. No staff at the desks...call a mobile number on the door of the kiosk. Fine. I do that. Chap tells me i can't book in person, have to do it online. Go online, book a car, pay for car...AFTER which it gives me a whole raft of things i need to provide in order to rent said car, none of which i have with me! Try to cancel...wants to charge me the same fee I have JUST paid (75), to cancel the transaction!! Phone airport guy number back in tears! He says he will cancel it for me...thank God...don't have to pay the termination fee, but STILL paid 75 for a car I couldn't take!!! NONE of this would have happened if there had been a person - I would have asked to rent a car, they would have asked for documentation, i would have said i didn't have it and sorry for me, but i would NOT have spent money! ABSOLUTE SCAM!! SO SOOOOOOO angry!
Dear Budget Customer Care, On 15 December 2018 I had reservation car with Budget that i pay full in advance. Long story short, the staff cancelled my reservation on the day i show up at airport. The staff promise me the full refund!! Well i already emailed and called there but the process of refund just failed. I just feel really disappointed having experienced with Budget car rental. I should not just trust the staff about the full refund. I will not booked with Budget again. Never experienced this such difficulties at any part of other countries with other car rental company. It's such a tiring process for more than a month and lost amount of money that is not little. George promise me to get a full refund and dont worry to much. And now we lost 552 pounds without any confirmation and any car. Travel with family and young kids.
We rented a car for 8 days and we are very happy with the experience : friendly and helpful staff, neat car and customisable level of insurance (we took the full cover).
