Like other reviews here, had a terrible experience. Ended up going to NHBC to rectify issues. Never dealt with the same person for long. Wouldn't have anything to do with them ever again nor the phoenix company that took over their assets. AVOID!

I have made numerous enquiries over the last few weeks with Roy Homes Ltd regarding the purchase of building plots, house kits and full builds for two properties. As yet I have not received a reply. I am moving back to the Highlands and need a more reliable company.
TERRIBLE, Roy Homes (or Ptarmigan Homes Ltd) as they are now called are an absolute disgrace to the building trade. They are completely useless and charge a fortune for sub standard work. Many people that have been unfortunate enough to believe the Roy Homes hype have ended up with a similar terrible experience to us. Avoid these builders at all costs. They recently went bankrupt and after a mgmt buyout re-emerged as Ptarmigan Homes Ltd, same address & contact details and alot of the same usefree people working for them. Cannot stress enough on how much everyone should avoid this company.
Roy Homes are without question are currently providing a very poor service. Build times are much longer than they suggest. Mine is currently one year for a 1.5 storey house and I still have not moved in. There is poor attendance by sub contractors on site (I think they have only a few subcontractors and they shuffle them round the builds to try to pretend that they have more). There is very poor note taking leading to misspecifications of work which they later refuse to rectify. Costs are hugely inflated. I had a quote for floor laying, which was five times the amount I was able to procure elsewhere. They also inflate anything they charge with overhead and charge an overstated amount of time for a small job (they charged me 14 hours for fitting a cooker hood). All in all I could not possibly recommend
