Very rude owner who doesn’t know the basics of costumer service interactions. Also, this place is more expensive than other shoe repair stores around. I would definitely not go back to his shop and I do not recommend it.

Have done business here several times now. The owner is personable, and his service has always been excellent. He takes great pride in his craftsmanship, refusing upfront to do work that he knows is possible, but will turn out below his and/or a customer's standards. That has to be respected in this day of a quick buck. Very reasonable fees, too, for services rendered.

Iouri's business practices are dubious, at best. He does not give out receipts. At this point, my wife and I had our doubts about leaving expensive shoes without the receipt of any proof that we brought shoes to be repaired, but he had a good review. He verbally gave an approximate quote of what the costs would be, and it amounted to about 80. Fast forward two weeks, and we return to pick up the shoes. Well, he could not even find the shoes, no doubt to his system of no paperwork. So, he asks my wife to come behind the counter and pick out her shoes. She could have picked out any shoes and anyone could have picked out her shoes. Then he gives the cost and it is 130 dollars, inclusive of HST, which is significantly higher than the original quote. Then he further advises her that is it only cash. My wife reluctantly pays and demands a receipt, which includes HST, as noted above, but no HST number. This smells of dishonesty. Then we come to the workmanship itself. It is not great. It is not terrible. It is merely average. It is certainly not worth the price. But, in addition to the work done, he made some damage himself. There is a small stain on the heel as well as an indentation, not to mention that on the linen bag she brought the shoes in, he left a rather larger stain. All of which my wife only noticed upon returning home. Will we be returning there? Absolutely not.
