This museum covers a unique aspect of American history and one that is extremely difficult to share with the public, as the mission it details continues to today. Getting a chance to see how people worked the ICBM mission is a rare opportunity, and I highly recommend this facility and the folks who run it.
Here are a chance to get a glimpse of what our missileman would have undergone while serving as a nuclear deterrent Get the first-hand view facility that five years ago to look at when it landed you in prison and today you can go through it completely. There are no missiles here to see, this is the command control bunker system for launching a complex of Patriot missiles or Minuteman II missiles, these are guys with a push the big button and started nuclear Armageddon. Will be impressed with the safeguards against an accidental launch within this facility as well as the fact that two facilities like this have to both agree and both turn their double key lunch systems to get a lunch happened A big piece of History located under a very small piece of dirt! If You are in to this type of facility, this is a must-see location
Nice knowledgeable tour. We'll presented. Lots of displays showing what our US Air Force missile crews do for us.
Such a cool piece of Cold War History. Take a ride in the elevator to the capsule where airmen 24 hours a day stayed vigilant in the hopes of never having to turn that key to initiate a launch.
Great tour.
I love learning about the Cold War, and this museum really puts you in the time and place. It was interesting learning about the facility and how the military lived and worked there. You really get a feel for the constant dread of nuclear warfare they must have faced. The bunker below where the missileers worked was neat with all this old technology that looked like computers as big as the room and 60s style print outs. That tech was used all the way up til the facility closed. It's the only place where you can visit a Peacekeeper Middle Alert Facility in the world.
Good tour. Interesting to see the reality
