In mid January, 2021 we arrived to a large banner on the motel thanking Donald Trump "for serving Christ and the USA". It had previously also thanked Mike Pence, but his name was crossed out with white tape. When I was getting my room key, the person (owner?) out of the blue made a divisive political comment. If you do not have the same political views of the owner you may feel very unwelcome here. Apart from that, the room was average. It had a funny smell, but it wasn't overpowering.

The Budget Host was clean, check in was smooth. Rooms well enough and pointed for the price and because we were here just to sleep before going out on an adventure it was a nice spot to spend the night in preparation for porcupine mountain Adventure. I would recommend this for any traveler well lit well staffed and well-appointed. A great place in Western upper peninsula.
Small family run hotel. Very friendly and helpful owners. Clean and quiet rooms. Ample parking for truck and trailer. Close to snowmobile trails. Couldn't ask for much more.
WHAT AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE! VERY INVITING, CLEAN, PERSONAL TOUCH EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK. FRIENDLY SERVICE. GREAT WATER AND AMENITIES. I WISH THEY HAD ONE IN EVERY CITY I WOULD STAY HERE EVERY TIME!!!!!! We came here from the Chicagoland area and we stayed at many many hotels through the years This one was my favorite!!!!!!! Stayed one night in July 2020 and enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable, with very updated furnishing (though the hotel has clearly been around a long time). We appreciated the easy after-hours check-in, and easy check-out as well. Bonus in the COVID era that they were both non-contact. It was a great place to lay our heads and we will definitely stay again if we are back that way.
This is a great mom and pop motel. Very clean....it is an older decore, and even the window sills are clean. Great price. We will be coming back.
Super clean, comfortable beds, extra touches in the room, nice grounds, friendly service, and overall really good energy in this place. Great price! Highly recommend.
The owner is very kind and helpful. I will definitely stay here on my next trip up north.
