Amazing place with a serious job to do. World class Engineering and automation. A modern marvel of science and technology. Dont like the occasional odour ? Move.

Used to go to Primary school in Isleworth, Occasionally strange odours would pervade the air, and 'Miss' would say ominously: ''Mogden Lane''.. I still remember the reek. I would have thought modern technology would have found a way of burning off the eggy stench...Seems not? Just be glad we have clean drinking water and that sewage is piped away...Imagine living in the days of 'The Great Stink' where the Thames smelled so bad from untreated sewage , and people fell ill from Cholera. We are lucky ...we flush and forget. No 'night soil men' these days. Edit: As for ''The Richest Borough ought not to stink'' comment below, I had to smile..The Ordure of 100k {plus bonuses} Bankers smells just as appalling as that of the poorest families on minimum wage in the Country...Poo is a great leveller.

A good place for a science school trip, as they can see what delights people create and see what gases are produced from them. They also have an onsite whirlpool, with many chocolate truffles in there for you to enjoy!

When the wind blows the wrong way anywhere within half a mile smells like an open sewer. Surely in an alleged first world country in the 21st century in one of the richest boroughs in the land there is technology to solve this problem?

Turning human tummy sludge into crystal clear river water since 1936. Producing some scrumy yummy odours such as hydrogen sulphide... yum! Believed to have conquered the height of the aromatics in 2008 with weekly inspections and monitoring. Its a wonder all that toilet aromatics is contained as much as it is today. Pre 1930's spreading of muck in the fields must have been awfal. Were there's muck there's money!
