This is one of my favourite restaurant, situated in ITC Sonar, Kolkata. Their biriyani is the best in India, I can say that with challenge. Their kababs and side dishes are also just mind blowing. Very good service, courteous staff, fine atmosphere, and very good place for family dinner. The price is a bit on the higher side, but worth it for the occasion.

Dum Pukht brings you the grand cuisine of India in an ambience that is truly regal. Its surprising array of aromatic dishes slow cooked in sealed deghs with handpicked spices to impart a delicate in ITC Sonar.

This review is less about the restaurant, but more about the Biriyani. Amongst all Dum Pukht Biriyani across ITC over the country, this one stands just behind ITC Maurya. There are many different types of Biriyani across the length if the country, but this one is Awadhi style Biriyani which is known for minimal spice and heavy in fat. It is slow cooked and therefore the rice gets cooked along with the meat. The portion serves 2 people well.

Great place to treat friends and family for special days as it's a bit heavy on the pocket! Food was delicious and the complimentary cake made my parent's day.

We went for dinner mid-July 2018. Ordered Kebab and Biryani. Kebabs was good, Biryani tasted like "Steamed" rice. Probably the server did not mix the rice with the spices which is usually at the bottom of the dish. The "container" containing the Biryani we ordered was kept almost 20 feet away on a separate table. Do you expect the guest to "ask" for the next serving, or walk to get it? Coming to the main point of this review, which is not the food but the mineral water supplied to us. I understand that it is procured from Kingdom of Bhutan. Can somebody from ITC provide me with a satisfactory explanation of getting the supply of mineral water from Bhutan and not from your OWN India?
