Owner has been making any claim possible to take money off the deposit of students for years. Myself and many others that stayed there had ridiculous claims written on the moving-out document that we were pressured to sign. Examples include: tiny holes in the curtains (that were already there to begin with), damage fees for the bed-couch that's been there for probably more than ten years and that's been used beyond repair even before I got there. Others that lived there and that didn't even use them for the entire year, and cleaned them before moving out, had to pay for those too. Loose wall tiles were also charged, while they'd been like this since before I moved in. A friend of mine that stayed there spent more than two days cleaning every inch of his room, for the owner to then bill him 50 for "cleaning fees". Little to no regard for student comfort - although the mistake was mine, one room on every floor is barely small enough to accommodate a desk and bed. Not to mention the poor isolation between floors that made me capable of hearing everything going on on the floors above and beneath me. Not to mention that plumbers and other workers entered my room freely to do some work on multiple occasions, which I was never warned about. For some reason, we're not allowed to use the garden in the back to store our bikes. While the rooms are rented for an entire year, the owner asks for "proof" (your school results) if you want to stay there during the summer. Internet, while I was there, was done through a portal that provided us with an allowance of 50gb per month - and bills you an extra 1/gigabyte if you want to have anything more. Inexcusable in the age of Netflix, online video-lessons, and smartphone apps. Note that this was for the year 2014-2015. The predatory tactics of the owner cannot continue like this, and students should absolutely refrain from renting there.
