Carbon Nanotechnology is a startup nanotechnology company established in Teknopark Izmir and in spite of its short history it has become one of the leading nanotechnology companies by producing high quality carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in Turkey. It is funded by Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology in June 2015 for 12 months project of producing the CNT incorporated electrospun electroactive polymer nanofibers to use as artificial muscle. The main focus of the company is R&D of CNT and biocompatible electroactive polymer nanofiber actuators used in many applications, especially in artificial muscles and tissue engineering. We produce high quality and high yield single walled and multi walled CNTs that are suitable for many applications with their superior mechanical, electrical and thermal properties. CNTs offer exciting opportunities for the development of new composite materials. Polymer/CNT composites shows improved mechanical, surface and multi-functional properties. By incorporation of CNTs to electroactive polymer based systems, their electrical and mechanical properties are enhanced. Addition of CNTs also improve dramatically the actuation response of the electroactive polymers and decreases their actuation voltage.
