One of my daughter's was referred to Dr. Abedi several years ago (5 years) for multiple issues (ADHD, OCD, and being on the Autism Spectrum), and eventually was diagnosed with ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder) Dr. Abedi has always listened to my concerns, as well as attentively monitoring my daughter, always checking blood levels, etc. When I wanted to back off medications, he happily did so, and weaned her off slowly. He was happy to help me find resources when things were fairly dark. My daughter also saw different therapists on the floor as it took us a while to find her a good match. Our home is quite volatile because of my oldest daughter, so my youngest ended up needing to see a therapist (David Ligeski) who recommended she see a doctor there as well. Dr. Handoo is phenomenal! She was so patient, kind, understanding, and wanted to help us find a happy medium between medicating and non-medication. Dr. Handoo even listened to us about my older daughter. At this point, I needed to see my own therapist. While Dr. Abedi was out for medical reasons, Jessica Hull took over my older daughters case until his return. She's very sweet and personable. I asked if she could make time for me and she happily agreed. I saw Katie (therapy) and she's a hoot! A person you can talk to without feeling judged or pressured and it really helped me stay in a positive frame of mind. Jessica prescribed me a few medications, one at my request, and never tried to force more on me or increase them unless I wanted to. Unfortunately, we relocated so we had to say goodbye to everyone at the office. Each doctor took the time to assure us that we'd have prescriptions until we found a doctor here and they're available if an emergency comes up. The office staff is great and most of the time everything is handled perfectly.

This facility is completely unethical. Once you step through the door you can just throw all your basic rights out the window. I've witnessed firsthand several patience being force to take drugs that they did not want to take or that they did not need. Your experience here may be identical to that of a horror movie about an insane asylum.

Not enough mental health resources in Jackson. Wait list is too long for someone in crisis but once you get in most providers are very good.

Constant ungrounded misdiagnoses before being assaulted. Never go here. They will diagnose you with whatever they want in order to fill quotas and then use medication specifically for the side effects in order to get you on more meds.

This facility and the people who work here are the types of people who will purposely do whatever it takes to get you on unnecessary medication.
