The problems start with the name of the restaurant. “Japanese curry EXPRESS”... the food took us 30 minutes or more to arrive. Would be acceptable if not for the clearly visible and loudly beeping microwave- which we could hear due to the store’s strange policy of silence, in spite of the fact that the neighbouring restaurant had a boisterous and lively atmosphere, I.E. to say, they were noisy. The policy which I was rudely informed of mid conversation between my friends and I. I cannot in the goodness of my heart and consciousness recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick and comfortable lunch. Please do better next time.
The sashimi is the best! It’s so thick and fresh! We went around 730pm and it’s not crowded but we have to order by 8pm and it’s closing around 8pm. Overall the food is good!
A gem that’s well-hidden in Fortune Centre. A small setup that serves quality stuff. It is always busy and seats fill up relatively fast. U can only be seated when your full party arrives. So expect to watch on the sideline if your friends are late. First impression on the food portion is small. But the reality is that it really fills u up quite fast. The quality of the food is pretty awesome for its competitive pricing. My kids love the food. Enough said.
Contrary to a lot of negative reviews, we were served by super friendly ladies. Definitely less crowded if you go at 7.30pm. This is not a fast food restaurant so be aware of the longer wait time especially during lunch time rush hour. Dishes are cooked personally by the owner. Order their Salmon rice bowls if you are in a hurry.
SO GOOD! We came on a Tuesday evening and didn’t need to queue at all. The aunty and uncle were really nice. The seating was no fuss and it was some of the best sashimi we had! The mentaiko roll was fresh and perfectly charred. Will definitely be back to try their other items! Even though the portions aren’t so big, we were super full and satisfied!
Price is okay, not the best. I read about this place about how it was homely and authentic Japanese food. Firstly, we were greeted by a rather rude staff, who seemed to have a vibe that he didn’t even want to be working there. We waited for about 20 minutes for seats and waited for a good one hour before they arrived, by then I was rather flustered and hungry. The same young man would proceed to just dump the food on the table and rudely walk off. Portions were small and definitely not full. Didn’t leave satisfied. Not sure if I would be back.
A shame because there's good food, a little on the pricier side, but super long waiting times and horrible service. Waited half an hour for 2 dishes to be served. Thereafter, I waited another WHOLE HOUR and still wasn't served a soft shell crab don. When I asked politely whether or not they forgot my order, I was told to "cancel your order if you cannot wait" THRICE even though I repeatedly told them it's alright, I'll continue waiting.
