It was nice. Such an amazing athlete. It was very informative but I did see an error. On the plaque under Jim with the football it says he was born in 1887 but everything else there says 1888. But I did enjoy getting read everything there.
His sarcophagus is lovely. The statues of him are lovely. It is just wrong. His remains need to be returned to Oklahoma and to his people. His remains are being used as a tourist attraction and the town hasn't held up end of the deal. They never built all of the commemorative buildings they promised in his honor. They just hold onto his remains. The town would get a lot of good publicity if they would only do the right thing and him to return home and have a proper traditional burial. Shame on the town of Jim Thorpe!
Wonderful place to stop and learn about what an amazing person that Jim Thorpe was in addition to being an amazing athlete.
I liked the memorial, should be better taken care of, new asphalt and parking area would be a good upgrade
