Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Despite being based at the WITS Professional Development Hub, the TESOL course is completely unprofessional. Even the course manual is riddled with typos and mistakes as basic as confusing "your" and "you're". I spent more time trying to interpret the confusing, multiple sources of instructions than actually carrying them out. The course it supervised by one person and taught by two. They're never on the same page and contradict each other. Teachers are very keen to get their students to take extra (paid for) lessons. I took one and the lecturer gave me a lesson plan, and when I taught it he criticised me for mistakes in the plan he had given me! The lecturers are explicit in telling students that they are NOT available afterhours, and since the classes occupy the whole of the working day, that means that there is no one available to answer questions about class plans and presentations given out as homework and due for the next day. This is a very expensive course and I'd recommend you save your money and take another one. I wish I could give zero stars.
