Had smoke coming into house. Called Dans. Paid for inspection and cleaning. They told me my stove and firebox was banned and not useable. Only cleaned around stove. Quoted me 5k to get operable including the cost of a NEW STOVE. And stated there are no parts adaptable for the problem he stated I have. Looked online and the stove they wanted me to buy was 1/2 Dans price. Got a second and third opinion. Both stated nothing wrong with my box or stove or fireplace. When I told them about the quote from Dans without mentioning names... they both responded with the same thing. “Let me guess, Dans?” Both said box was fine all is operable and it wasn’t cleaned as I had paid for. I paid the 2nd opinion and now he will get my money religiously. Also, second guy is CERTIFIED. I am now enjoying my wood stove again!!! While only spending money for ANOTHER cleaning because Dans didn’t finish it.

Don't recommend. Told me i needed a damper, 675. There was a good one in it but the handle was missing. I found this out during my own inspection. I called and he said they can put a new handle on it. They came to put a new liner in the flue and convinced my wife to put a new damper on top. Said they don't carry that type of handle. So got charged for something i didn't need. My opinion is this is a bottom feeder operation. If u like getting screwed then by all means do business with them. I strongly suggest you go somewhere else.
Hateful attitude over the phone. God forbid a customer is new to cleaning out a chimney and may have a good question or two. No need for the hate sir. I shall take my business elsewhere. Guess you just lost 190 for the first visit and another 170 for the second visit. Your loss, some other companies gain.
Fast, friendly, and honest. Great company great crew. Explained everything fully and did not try to sell me something I didn't need. Definitely recommend Dan's Chimney.
First of all, let me say that Dan is AMAZING! I have never known a company who is actually trying to save you money but that’s exactly what Dan did for me today. All year my fireplace damper has been stuck in the open position and the temperature difference from the rest of the house was significant. I called Dan to see if he could come by to fix my damper and he told me it would be a fee to come out and take a look. He then gave me a recommendation over the phone of how to possibly close it. When I took his recommendation and it didn’t work, I sent him pics of my issue and he walked me through how to repair and problem solve my issue. It worked without me spending a dime! Now Dan could have just said he couldn’t help me without paying him but he didn’t!!!! He was more concerned with saving me money and time than to take advantage and I truly appreciated that!!!! If EVER I have a true issue with one of my fireplaces, I will be sure to call Dans Chimney sevice!!!! Thanks Dan!!!
