I was recommended to see Dr. Busscher by another optometrist to treat some corneal abrasions in both eyes. Previous optometrist told me I could lose vision in my eyes and never be able to wear contacts again. I saw Dr. Busscher the day, the other optometrist referred me. The staff was great and check in was really quick. After 2 minutes, I was called back by an assistant to do eye tests. 5 minutes later I was able to see Dr. Busscher.I I broke down as soon I met him because the previous optometrist had me believing I could lose my vision. Dr Busscher was very patient and understanding. After examining my eyes, he determined I had some blood vessel growth and severe dry eye. He then prescribed me a steroid drop. 2 months later, my eyes are completely healed, and I was able to get an eye exam for a new glasses and contact lens prescription. The technician who performed my eye exam was great. He triple checked my vision with the new prescription and made sure it was correct. The staff in optical are super friendly and helpful. The woman who assisted me did the best she could to make sure I got the best price on my frames and lenses. I highly recommend Johnson City Eye Clinic because they really seem to care about their patients rather than quickly moving people in and out like the big chain optometrists.

I wouldn't even give them one star, they are useless. They do not care about their patients. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else. Jeffery Carlsen is the worst one he definitely don't care about the children.

I had Jones Tubes placed in both eyes. 2 days later I knew there was something wrong. My left tube was protruding. I went to see him and he said both of my eyes look the same and he didn’t see anything wrong but I was free to get a 2nd opinion which I’ve done. The protruding tube has to be removed! Carlsen became aggressive and dismissive when I pointed out the issue. He had the nerve to ask me what I did to it ! He also said I could take a w/tip and push it done! I’ll never go back!

It’s truly like herding cattle. Most of staff are very nice however little time is spent with a Dr. A different staff member does each test and you are hurdled from room to room. I don’t think I have ever seen a physician with worse bedside manners as Dr. John Johnson. He is arrogant and curt when he came into the room for less than five minutes He mostly speaks to the assistant in the room and rarely addressed the patient. I was assisting an elderly person who received some devastating news about her eyes. He showed no compassion although when he left the room his assistant was very nice.
