Couldn't Ask for More. I was looking for a nice place to take my date and I chose Al's. This was a Tuesday and our reservation (which we didn't need) was for 7:00pm. We really loved the ambience. Older but warm. The hostess greeted us and we were seated within a few minutes. Our server, Jen, was great. Very attentive. She answered all of my questions. She also had PERFECT timing when delivering the main meal (She commented that she was a bite too early as I was just finishing my salad). My date and I each had a glass of wine. Considering the rest of the menu, 8 for nice sized glass of wine seemed appropriate. We only had one each. I ordered the Porterhouse and my date the Petite Filet Mignon. Both we done perfectly (Medium rare). I had the Turtle pie for dessert. A perfect ending for a wonderful meal. Jen was really the gem. She was very attentive but not overly (until I asked her a bunch of questions and she nicely stayed around to answer them. The dinner was expensive but not out of line for a nice restaurant. I've paid almost as much for a lesser experience. We will return. Jen said that the Halibut was fantastic. I can't wait.

Everything was great! We highly recommend it..
We WERE long time customers – many years. Actually wrote a very good review on them several years ago. No more. Last visit I had to send back a totally inedible meal for the second time in as many months ( I Never send food back). Hostess ( middle aged blond) was rude regarding our concern over Coved seating. Hostess and server were well aware we were long time regulars. I left my name and number for the owner to call me to discuss my dissatisfaction with this visit. No call returned. How insulting! Fine dining? Not even close.
Came here last night and got the Steak Diane....man that was one of the best pieces of meat I have ever had. I also had a lemon drop that came in a really cute tub of ice. For an appetizer we had the clams which were also pretty good. This place is really good. It did feel super old school, but I really liked it that way. There was also a live pianist which I think is awesome!
I had the Porterhouse, Greek Potatoes, and Cream of Chicken Soup. I ordered the Steak medium rare, it was pretty good but needed a little more seasoning. It was cooked unevenly and there were parts of the Steak that were rare and other parts that were medium. The Greek Potatoes were really good and so was the Cream of Chicken Soup.
