It's not what I was expecting. The architecture is awesome. The location is good, right next to the national highway. But the museum doesn't have much to see. Just some tabloid like creation. It would've been awesome if they showcase actual things. Very few artefacts are there. Not what I expected from a place dedicated to a specific dynasty.

Its the perfect place in Jorhat to do some soul searching in peace. You can just sit back, relax and enjoy the sunset as you contemplate life and it's grand scheme of things. The best time to go there is during the sunset when you can see the sun setting on the top of the dragon bust. The only regret from my visit there would be not able to visit the museum as it was closed that day.

Very good place for the history lovers and specially if you are from Assam then it's a must visit it closes by 5 pm so go there early the entry ticket is very cheap only 10 RS for adults , the whole environment of the place takes you to the old times , the museum is beautiful with lots of info with information given in English so no problem for foreign visitors or visitors outside of Assam , the staff is very friendly, also a very good place for friends to go and also family and young people

You can see the giant statue of Siu-Ka-Pha, the first Ahom ruler of Assam. The history associated with the life and deeds of trust building by this great king can be seen in the museum here.
