If I could give this office ZERO stars I world. Terrible customer service. I went as a new patient for an eye exam and contacts RX. I have been wearing monthly contacts most of my life. I was told I needed DAILY contacts. Even after I told them I did not want DAILY contacts. I was given samples and told I had to come back in a week before they would give me my RX. At checkout I was told Dr Bate was not available the following weekend and I would have to see another doctor (Um, I am brand new to this office and they don't know me). Then comes the billing nightmare... 410 billed my vision insurance AND 290 billed to my medical insurance (for the same exam). So I was left with no contacts RX and had to go elsewhere to obtain contacts RX. I then spent another 279 for them to redo all the test that she did and billed to both of my insurances, leaving me with no usable benefits. Would NEVER recommend this office to anyone.

Our family absolutely loves coming to Joy Family Eye Care!! Dr. Joy Bate is an excellent optometrist!! She is wonderful with my daughters and myself. Dr. Bate is both personable and professional. She takes great care in making sure the health of our eyes are her top priority as an eye health care professional. All of the staff at Joy Family Eye Care are pleasant and thorough through the entire process. We also receive reminder emails and information on eye health from the office which in our fast paced world are a necessity these days. Thank you Joy Family Eye Care for making our eye care health your priority!!

Decided to try this place to give more money to small businesses and I'll be headed back to big business. The Doctor is cool, the staff is not. 1. There are hidden costs, my insurance covers the exam but there are other \tests\ they do that aren't covered. These are \mandatory\. Pay attention to the walls where they have them posted as well, its not obvious. 2. I ordered a pair off frames & lenses from their optical center. After a couple weeks I called to check in. At this point they notified me the lenses had broke and they had to start over again. When I asked why I wasn't updated, they stated \It's still within the two week timeframe\. 3. My lenses/frames come in. The lenses aren't the color I ordered. I brought this to their attention and their remedy was to pull the \showroom frames\ and replace the lenses. I did not agree with this method and that's where it went south with the technician. I asked to speak to a manager about the customer service aspect. She agreed service could be better. 4. My new frames come in....guess what? The lenses don't fit. I'm told \we need to order more frames\. At this point I'm really upset because I take off work to come here. The technician's response, \well you could have the showroom frames but you turned them down\. People, if you purchase a product from any big box store, you expect to get a new unopened product not the floor model. I ask will they consider ordering both frames and lenses to prevent the same thing from happening. After the technician speaks to the manager, she agrees to order two frames. The Staff culture is apathy. They simply does not care about customer service. Back to the big store I go.

We’ve been so pleased with Joy Family Eye Care. Dr. Bate is very professional and really takes the time to give personalized attention to her clients. She answers all our questions and genuinely cares about my family’s vision health. The office has even done glasses for my daughter who’s living out of state for law school and needed a new pair, but didn’t have the ability to fly home to try on the newest styles. The office already knew which frame dimensions would best fit, while also looking stylish. Apparently there are measurements for such things, because when the new pair arrived, my daughter was thrilled with them. My husband and I are getting older and I have every confidence that should any major eye conditions arise, Dr. Bate and her team will be on top of it. I can’t imagine trusting something as important as vision with anyone else.

I absolutely love Joy Family Eye Care. Dr. Bate is incredibly thorough and takes the time to explain anything she finds with you. She is also incredibly knowledgeable and helped identify insulin issues I was having based on her monitoring of my vision over time. I will continue to use her practice because she takes great care of her patients and really cares about them.
