Booked a private tour for myself and a friend that included a tapas lunch. A really interesting couple of hours accompanied by the lovely and knowledgeable Ilse. This was followed by delicious tapas made by their chef, to enjoy with a variety of their wonderful wines. The views from the dining area across the vineyards and surrounding countryside are beautiful! Can highly recommend the wines - lovely flavours, organically produced and very reasonably priced for such good quality wine. We each bought several bottles to bring home. The vineyard exports worldwide, so if you prefer you can order your wine. We’ll definitely be returning!

The second day of our wine trip to South East Spain last week took us to Casa Rojo in Jumilla,, where Toñi Perea was our companion for their aptly named “wine experience”. This is a relatively new bodega, which opened in 2016, and is unlike any other we have visited in Spain. The owners decided, apparently at considerable expense, to focus on quality, as opposed to quantity, and produce a limited quantity of outstanding wines. After touring the winery we had the good fortune to sample six different wines accompanied by an excellent lunch prepared by chef Mari Carmen assisted by her daughter Ana Belén - although a couple of our group apparently hold them responsible for their unexpected weight gains... The Casa Rojo “wine experience” definitely warrants a visit to Yecla!
Brilliant wines, Alejandro informed us about all the aspects of wine making. A lot of thought and effort to build this wonderful winery.
Having visited many vineyards around the world we rate this top of the list. Ilse was a superb host and her knowledge improved the overall experience. Their innovative operation was most refreshing and took away the pomp and superior attitude shown in many of the top wineries. We can’t wait to comeback for the rooftop dining experience. Worth every Euro and a definite add to next bucket list. Well done
Difficult to find. Few quality vineyards around. The wines change a lot depending on the vintage, as they have no control over the fields. Better options to drink in Jumilla without paying that much in marketing.
