I have been waiting for over a month for them to return my call because they had been overwhelmed due to the whole Covid nonsense! It wasn't their fault. I understand the timing issue. What really irritates me is that they only made one attempt to try to call me. I've been waiting for that call for over a month! They never attempted to call me back. I was in the bath when they called, and I didn't take the phone in with me. I can't believe that after waiting for that long, all I get is a short bleep on a VM and no further attempt to contact me now I get to call him back start on the waiting period all over again and hope I'm not in the bath when they call. How ridiculous is that?

Never in my life as a child or adult have I had any type of government assistance! Never, ever! My life in the last several years has taken a serious turn in a direction I never expected. As a result, I have dealt with serious changes that have affected the type of work I have always been able to. Very involved and long story short, I hit a really big wall the last few months. I was referred to Junction City DCF by my brother in law and I was reluctant to do so. Going to the welfare dept is a very "alien thing" for me and I felt nervous about it! However, I called and set an appointment to discuss my situation. I went in for my first appointment and met my counselor Candace Howard. Let me say this....she is FANTASTIC! SERIOUSLY, I am telling you all, Candace put my mind at complete ease! She listened to me explain that reaching out for help like this was very tough for me to do and I was totally unfamiliar with it all. Candace really understood why I felt that way! She was not only great at understanding me, but I could tell she CARED FOR ME and, my situation! Candace is a "Vocational Rehabilitation" counselor. That is the program DCF offers and is the program I have been accepted into!! Guys, if your having a awful time finding a job due to physical limitations due to a injury like me, get on the phone to Junction city Kansas DCF and tell them your ordeal! Let them help you because they care and they can!!

Just all around horrible service, they make it seem like they don't want to do their job, and they procrastinate everything they do! They just need to terminate everyone employed and start fresh with people who WANT to do their job.

If I could give no stars at all I would. First off a lady called and did an over the phone interview. Was asking me the same questions that I already filled out on the paperwork....I get it proper protocol then she asked if I had any banks I said no because I DON'T. I think banks are shady so I do my own thing but that's neither here or there sssooo also mentioned how do I receive my va and how do my husband get paid I told her paper checks... she hung up 2 minutes later called back and said she has a friend that she called that works for the va and told her that my husband receives va and that we both have a banking account also said the amount that she thinks my husband gets paid or what not... first off if your friend told you that or whomever you got your info from is completely INCORRECT. these people think they paying you out of their own pocket thing is do she do background checks on all of her interviewees smdh I literally hate some people frfr.

Not only are caseworkers abrupt, they are rude. I feel like there are no people with any empathy at this place at all. I have been more than willing to work with them but Kansas is not the place to be if you need help, but especially this office. I wouldn't waste time here unless I had to.

They are very not organized in any way, they will make you feel as if because you can’t come to the office for reviews that your case is not important at all or they do not tell you the whole truth how it really works. Now not all of the employees are bad there’s some who go beyond to help you, but that is not many they really need to get things together.
