Visited Elua Wai Farm on my last visit to Kawaii. Wow so beautiful talked with the owners and was given a tour. Love the history lesson from Dr. Gilbert and Dr. Dallas. Drive thru beautiful farm country; lots of small farms. Along Lauoho and Waha rd in Kalaheo (turn off Koloa Rd onto Lauoho rd [the Lawai General Store is located on the corner) and turn right to go up Waha rd as you drive through one of Kauai’s prettiest areas. Honor stands at most of the farms; each has different fruits and flowers Cheaper than the super high-priced grocery stores and you will find LOCAL produce, where the stores clearly bring in, even their bananas, from elsewhere. Also can find rare and unusual fruits (sugar cane, breadfruit, coconuts, tropical flowers of unreal beauty, strange but delicious fruits such as rambutans, soursops, moyas that taste like melted vanilla icecream (Wow!) or taste like cherries or lemon chess pie). Would be a shame to travel all the way to Kauai and then miss out on this.
