Didn't expect it to be so well maintained. Well done ASI! Even though it's a small place but the scenic beauty around is wonderful. And the people around are really nice!

Located at khalsi, foothills of chakrata. Great historical place. Inscriptions on the rock are however faded. But still a place worth going. Not much options for food though. The gentleman taking care of the monument is very helpful and gives good insight and info.. Place around the monument lacks cleanliness.

A major historical place, but hardly people visit it. The place have the only stone inscription across North India. It's a must visit.

Ashok's Stone Edict... A conical stone about 10 ft tall, kept in a 1912 building for safeguarding from natural elements. The inscription in Prakrit language is largely eroded, though can be made out. Would have been great, if a translation could have been posted at the site... Access... About 300 m off the main motorable road..

Kalsi is a small village near to Paonta Sahib. Here lies the 14 Rock Edit of Ashoka. The Edict is written over a large piece of rock. The rock is placed inside a room, in middle of a well maintained park. It is a small park and there is nothing more than Edict to see. The Edict can be seen from a distance, one can not go close to it. Washrooms and water cooler is also there. There is no designated parking for visitors, you need to park vehicle in village or on road nearby. There are some small shops for tea and snacks in the village. Don't expect any fancy restaurant or anything similar.
