Went here last year because of a severe allergic reaction. I was there for several hours as they had to watch me, however, the nurses were phenomenal and very patient with my anxiety, AND they brought my phone in for me! I was treated with respect and dignity the whole time. I have huge respect for all hospital staff during this time, I understand it must be really hard with covid and all that.

Parking is absolutely atrocious but when you find a spot, more than affordable, especially if there for a long period of time. Staff are nice & helpful. I have not been in emerge myself but many of my family members have. Your typical, high traffic, larger serving hospital waits. It’s definitely clean & there is no shortage of spots to stop & wash your hands or use hand sanitizer.
Doctor told me that I need to get blood work done urgently and I called to inquire what time they open and the lady on the phone was extremely rude. When you have people going through traumatic experiences you should really hire people with patience and compassion
I just had surgery at RIH and all of the staff and and nurses were amazing, right from the beginning they were kind and efficient from the pre op group asking lots of questions, the fellow that inserted my Intervenous in prep for surgery before I knew it was in , to the surgery team for being so positive and kind when I entered the OR, and the post op team that cares for me so amazing that it makes me want to cry for their kindness, I suffer hot flashes and they seem to be worse from medications they, had cool cloths on my head and neck, and even went to the extent of finding a little fan to blow on me as I felt like I was melting from the inside out (my hero male nurse was so kind) The number of precautions they have to take constantly and questions they confirm over and over must make them feel like a broken record, but knowing they are there to keep me safe during all of the steps made my heart feel full I only remember a few names because of the medication and honestly my memory is terrible so a huge thank you to Dexter, M.C , Christine, Mary, and all of the 6 south staff nurses, cleaning, students, etc. Thank you all for your kindness Teresa R
For what is, following breaking a foot after a motorcycle accident I was transported to Royal Island Hospital from 100 Mile House because of the complexity of the break. The Kamloops hospital is very busy. Emergency was packed and it took a while to get scheduled for surgery. The nurses were really friendly as best as they could be and were very hard working. Unfortunately after getting scheduled for surgery and then cancelled because of a higher priority appeared it gets frustrating after 6 days. The meals were not the greatest but it was food.
