On Aug 11,2020 I was diagnosed with Chronic Ideopathic Uticaria. I was prescribed Xolair a monthly shot by #novartis / the only medicine to treat my condition that costs 1,300/monthly. Since that day I have been trying extremely hard to get the shot through a "patient care program" by Alio Health Group. I have been unsuccesful. Both of my insurance providers #greenshield & #sunlifecanada have approved me for the very expensive drug. It has been 25 days (18 biz days) of complete agony, sleepless nights, itchyness, burning sensations, inability to work, side effects from all of the other drugs including high dosages of prednisone which has resulted in SHINGLES and of course my mental health has suffered. I have emailed and called Alio almost daily, have cried on the phone, have demanded and begged, nothing has happened. They have no regard for their customers/ patients, they are unresponsive and to this day I have not been booked for an appointment (September 4,2020). My condition is severe, it requires this medication and their inhumane treatment and the added stress of dealing with this program has been a nightmare. Two days ago, my allergist sent the prescription to a pharmacy and I was able to receive the shot TODAY! It takes 24 hours for a pharmacy to get it, it is NOT the protocol #novartis wants, why, I don't know. I am a lucky person who has two insurance providers, if I did not have this, I would still be at the mercy of Alio Health group to provide me with the medicine/ an appointment to receive the shot. A lot of people are in this situation, as they cannot afford the medicine, and that is unacceptable. I am using my anger, frustration and pain to ensure there is change, I will be sending formal complaints and fighting this inhumane treatment to ensure people don't have to suffer for months before accessing a critical medicine.

I am stunned by how horrible this company is. I wish I didn’t have to deal with them. So many bad reviews online. Alio Health lied to me and told me that forms were submitted to my insurance company several days before they were actually even sent in. My insurance company offered to expedite the process so there would be no delay or interruption in my Xolair injections if they received proof from Alio that the forms were actually sent in when Alio says they were submitted. Alio Health (Heather Bennett) refused to help with that stating that it was “counterproductive”. She told me I should pay 1,400.00 for my medication if I wanted it. Alio did not even send the forms into my insurance company until after my insurance company had given the approval My insurance company ended up expediting the process because I sent in the forms to them myself that I had my doctor send me. I have left 5 messages this week for someone at Alio to call me back so that I never have to go through this again, however, they don’t return phone calls and they will do everything within their power to prevent you from making a complaint. Alio Health also refuses to provide me with the name of their governing body so I could make a formal complaint. The best way to deal with a company like this is to make the complaint public, which is what I will be doing.

This is by far the WORST care provider of any kind. Absolutely disgusting how this company/building is operating and treating their patients and how on earth they're still open. March of this year 2020 I was suppose to start my Xolair shots for my allergic asthma. All the required documents were completed at my pulmonologist office and sent off to them. ONLY 4 months after in July, after multiple emails and calling attempts at from my pulmonologist to their office they finally called me. I had some kind of hope, I completed the required documents they sent me for them to sent my pulmonologist and then to both of my insurance companies. With back and forth emails, calls between me and my pulmonologist and with my insurance companies with this Hell of a company I WAITED FOR ANOTHER 2 MONTHS until I actually had my first xolair shots. The agent on the phone did not do her job properly and made excuses that my pulmonologist was in the wrong. I was schedule for my second appointment tomorrow morning, well got the news this morning that in fact ALIO health didn't send the confirmation of my appointment to the pharmacy in order for them to ship the shots to my injection clinic in Ottawa. The agent on the phone told me to go get the medication myself in Oakville ..what a JOKE!! That's 5 hours away, and then told me to call the pharmacy and the injection clinic for info since i'm not going to drive 5 hours to get myself the medicine that they didn't send confirmation for. The company is absolutely DISGUSTING, UNPROFESSIONAL, DISRESPECTFUL.
