We picked up our pup October 2019 from Mooselake Labradors. Their vets papers signed everything “good”. The parents were Walter and Jaquie. He came home with kennel cough. Took him to our vet for the first visit, who noticed a large overbite. His baby teeth bottom K9 had to be removed as they were poking holes in roof of mouth. At 4 months we noticed he was limping. At 7 months he went to a dental surgeon to have his bottom K9’s filed down and a root canal for his adult teeth as he was in pain. At 9 months he had elbow dysplasia surgery in both front legs at the same time, followed by months of physio therapy. Laurie and mike only gave us back 500 dollars. Since we picked our pup up from Mooselake he has cost 10,000 in surgeries, and a life long commitment of medication. He cannot go for long walks or have a ball thrown for him. Laurie initially said they would pay out the price of him, then took that back and nothing more than 500 dollars was paid to us. A long road of stress, surgeries, recovery, and not having a lab who can be a normal dog. We have to do small subdivision walks with him as he can’t handle more. I love my dog but I am so upset in how they handled it. Unprofessional and didn’t care about his health once they handed him off to us. I wouldn’t recommend Mooselake labradors at all. Their contract that said his bite was good from their vet was a lie. He has large overbite and elbow dysplasia in both front legs. Do your homework before buying from them. Believe me.

Couldn’t ask for better. Amazing HUGE outdoor spaces with indoor ameneties for the pups as well. They are very thorough when matching a pup to owners to ensure there is a right fit. Dogs have the best temperament I’ve ever seen! The one star rating makes me wonder if Mooselake felt these potential owners didn’t fit the bill... I’m in a community of nearly 500 people who own or have owned ML pups and we are all very happy and grateful to this kennel. We are a big family! Our pup is turning 3 this year and is just amazing with our 5 yr old and our baby.

We bought a dog 9 years ago from Mooselake. We love and cherish our pup, and have remained active in the Mooselake community. We bought their food for years until we could no longer afford it, and switched to a cheaper, yet just as healthy, option. This year we inquired about getting a new dog, to which the owner responded that it is their policy not to sell dogs to those who don’t buy their food. It’s their choice who to sell dogs to, but it is my opinion that this policy is extortionate and unfairly harsh on underprivileged persons. What’s more, I think this policy should be known to those looking to buy a dog from Mooselake. (Note this policy is not about ensuring the health of their dogs. We could have been feeding our dog steak dinners for all they know; they never asked.) Second, we used the boarding service at Mooselake for one week. Our dog came home with two hairless spots on his front knees. We took him to the vet and the vet told us that they were from lying on a hard surface for a long time. Our supposition is that our dog was left in a concrete crate for hours on end. He has never gotten these spots again so it must have been an extreme situation.
Laurie and Mike are amazing! They've helped us even after we got our pup. They really care about their pups. We've had the best experience and couldn't be happier!!!!
