Sits on a cute block, nice and clean inside, and many options on bakery and tea. I got a croissant, chocolate croissant, cheery Danish, and Almond something (also pastry). To be honest the 4 star is because the pastries are good but not great. Nothing bad, but I've had better. However I'm not from Kansas city, so I don't know what else is good in the area. If you're a local then I'm sure this place is a great spot.

So to be quite frank.... Fellas if your significant other does not know about this place... STEP YOUR GAME UP....and get a birthday cake from here this year instead of your local grocery store. Granted its a little pricey if you are used to buying 15-20 cakes but in my opinion it was worth it. I ordered a 70 six inch cake for my wife and opened the box and thought i bought a mini wedding cake...it was so nice i almost wanted to put in a trophy case somewhere. The flavor was strawberries and champagne and knew it was legit because my wife and i loved the inside frosting... but my kids weren't fans of it and said it tasted weird. That was because the frosting was actually infused with champagne and made it delicious. Definitely will go back here to try some other flavored cakes that might be more kid friendly.

Excellent chocolate croissant! The sandwiches and especially the fries that came with were phenomenal! Four stars instead of 5 because the chai latte is genuinely the worst I have ever had. Their other drinks might be good though! This was my first time but I'll be back.

Instantly fell in love. Hard to find parking but I won't hold that against them. There's a reason for that, they're clean, it's a quaint cute shop, makes you feel right at home the moment you step inside. The smells are amazing! I had their chicken salad, was berry good! I can honestly say I've never had anything like it. Usually most people use onions, they do not which I am grateful for. I will most definitely be back, good price, good food, good atmosphere. Last but not least the staff is very nice and welcoming and I always love to see when employees appear to love their jobs! It's a must. Thanks!

McLain's Bakery made all my wedding cake dreams come true!!! It turned out perfectly and we got so many compliments on how delicious and beautiful it was. I wish we would have saved our top tier for our one year anniversary, but this just gives me an excuse to go back to McLain's and have them make me another cake ;) Pictures are by the amazing Bailey Pianalto
