The group is privately owned with roots in the games industry back to mid 90s and managed by a team of highly experienced individuals. The latest big acquisition for the group came in 2013, as a result of THQ Inc in the US filing for Chapter 11. Nordic Games Group AB was the winning bidder for a substantial lot of games, code, IP, assets etc from the THQ back catalogue. The largest franchise being Darksiders, but with a nice mix of products and genres to bring back to life both in physical and digital form. During the summer of 2013, Nordic Games Group also acquired two IP’s from Atari, Silver and Desperados. The group is home to Game Outlet Europe AB, Nordic Games GmbH, GAME Stores Group Sweden AB and Quantic Lab.
