Hydro Consult Engineering Limited (HCEL) is a leading consulting company of Nepal especially in hydropower sector, since the establishment of Butwal Power Company (parent company BPC) in 1966. BPC has acquired 80% share of HCEL on July 2009, which was established on March 1998 by People Energy and Environment Development Association (PEEDA). BPC has transferred its engineering consultancy business and BPC Hydroconsult’s goodwill to HCEL aiming to run the Engineering consultancy business as a separate entity. HCEL has inherited 26 years of professional experience from the BPC Hydroconsult. HCEL provides engineering services in the sector as driven by the need of society based on innovative approaches and technologies. It has extended its services in hydropower, water supply, irrigation, transport and other development sectors. HCEL aims to produce appropriate design and engineering solutions for development projects within Nepal and abroad. In International market, HCEL is providing the Project Management and Construction Supervision service to Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) for 5MW Gura Hydropower Project in Kenya. HCEL is also providing consulting service for feasibility study of 223 MW Koragh - Paraith Hydropower Project, Chitral in Pakistan.
