The Community Futures Development Corporation of the Central Okanagan is a community based organization funded by Western Economic Diversification Canada and contracts with the Province of BC and private organizations to deliver business development programs. The organization and programs are governed by a volunteer board of local business people and community leaders. CFDC contributes to the social and economic well being of the Central Okanagan by providing small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs access to services tailored to their individual needs. From financing to training programs, CFDC is a full support centre for new and existing businesses. The Central Okanagan office was founded in 1990 and began with $2.45 million in loan funds. Today, loan funds have grown to over $3 million and we have made over 800 loans totaling over $19 million to help start or expand businesses in the Central Okanagan.
