Honest - Straight to the Point - Genuine Pete is the most genuine mechanic I have ever met. I understood this very quickly after chatting with him. He gave me all the info I needed to know when working on my truck, no BS and no beating around the bush. Pete helped me out of a pinch when I bought a used '97 F150 in Vernon two weeks ago. Planning to drive back to my home in Nelson, the truck barely made it into Kelowna. My scanner threw a code p0305, misfiring on cylinder 5. So at 6pm on a Saturday night I found Pete’s shop on a google search for mechanics in Kelowna. I briefly chatted with Pete and he called me back in 10 min after doing some research on the problem. Turns out the plugs hadn’t been changed despite what the seller told me. I dropped the truck off that night and Pete spent the next TWO days changing the plugs. The plugs were the originals, so they were seized into the threads like no tomorrow. He spent the two days getting the seized plugs out, helicoiling new threads and putting new plugs in. A very time consuming job. I am NOT new to dealing with mechanics. If I were to have taken this problem to another mechanic in town I would have spent a week in Kelowna waiting for this job to get done. It would have also been much more expensive. But lucky for me I found Kelowna Mobile Mechanics. Pete, you are the man!

**DISREGARD THE PREVIOUS REVIEW** We hired Peter to inspect the previous reviewers RV for us. No tools were necessary as this was a visual inspection of the unit to see if we should take the interest any further. Peter and I had spoken at length so he was clear on the type of unit we were looking for. As it turned out, it didn't take long for Peter to see that this particular unit wasn't ticking the boxes for us..which isn't surprising given Peter's years of experience in this trade. Like with any profession, sometimes it doesn't take long to know what you're looking at. Peter and I had a long phone conversation and he relayed clearly to us what he had found. And due to not spending as much time on this job as we had thought he would, he even spent some more time online searching on behalf of us for other potential RV's, and to this day is still helping us with our search. When talking with Peter its clear to hear he takes a lot of pride in what he does. If you're looking for someone who's extremely experienced in his field and will be straight up and honest with you whether it's good or bad news, Peter's your man. Highly recommend!

Pros and cons, Peter came out of his way, as I would expect of a mobile mechanic. My thinking was it would save money towing a large van with only an electrical issue. He found the electrical short within 15 minutes, he knows his way around a vehicle. If I added up the hourly rate including driving time would be over 200/hr. Initially I was told it would be over 1000 for what seemed like a 20 minute job. He came down to 500 eventually. I I expect to pay professionals 100-150/hr but not 400/hr. Comparatively I’ve had leavitt, a large company in town come out for the same issue on a custom piece of equipment that took the same amount of time and the total came to just under 300. If you’re a business and need paperwork i would ask for an invoice or receipt up front before handing over payment. I would expect him to have the receipt book on him but he needed to drive back to the shop to get it, which somehow was our fault. I think he’s a great mechanic, but some tweaks in professionalism and fairness would take the business to the next level.

When interacting with this business, you are really interacting with the mechanic, Peter. As he told me, he runs this business because he is personally dedicated to helping people out of a bind. He performed a Cam sensor replacement on my Jeep TJ sport as well as a throttle body cleaning. After being towed to his shop, the vehicle was ready the next day and ran without issues. He also offered to pick me up, drop me off, gave reassurance by talking me through the entire process . He even told me to contact him if I ever had issues in the future with or without hiring him, and lowered his quote and gave me a free inspection after we had some trouble. However, Kelowna Mobile didn't do the best job managing the transaction. There were issues with the e-transfer payment so I would recommend paying cash if possible. Keep everything upfront, in person, and secure. Then, Kelowna Mobile can and will provide everything you need and then some. Again, you are dealing with peter at the end of the day. He is very real, trustworthy, and wants to help. Would definitely recommend and did so on the same day.
