My daughter came to Oak Learning last year to take part in the PACE program as she was struggling emotionally and academically at school. She worked with Lynne using unique and different strategies and accomplished many goals during the program. My daughter just finished her Grade 10 year as an honor student and has never been this confident in school ever. Thank you Lynne and the support of the Oak Learning Center, we greatly appreciate you.

I'd like to be clear that I only met with Lynne for 50 minutes in our first meeting. In my opinion, she's an aggressive and terrible therapist. I could barely explain my situation to her - it almost felt like a power play. When I did manage to get a word in, she told me to take responsibility, stop making excuses for my past actions, and that I'd have to be prepared to meet with one of her colleagues, a psychiatrist. I had only talked for 30 minutes about my situation, with frequent interruptions, and she felt that I needed to meet a psychiatrist. She didn't even know me. I didn't feel comfortable sharing with her, because she was obviously very skeptical and a little condescending. She didn't like when I spoke up and disagreed with her. Honestly, I think she's used to dealing with insecure people who need someone to tell them what to do. If you ever took an Introduction to Psychology class, they talk about therapists like her who project their own assumptions onto you and tell you what to do with your life. That is NOT what a therapist is supposed to do - they're supposed to be a third-party observer that guides you. I met with another therapist, who after a few months declared me mentally healthy. But Lynne was going to set me up with a psychiatrist instead of getting to know me better in less than an hour, and I don't think a therapist like that should go unreviewed.
