We are quite disappointed in Watson's. Our dog was a regular at this establishment for more than 5 years, until a couple of months ago when he was injured by another dog there. Near the end of the day my wife received a call from Watson's telling her that our dog was playing with a few others and some hair got ripped out of his tail and some skin came off with it. The caller made it seem like it was just a minor injury so my wife waited until after work to pick him up. When our dog was brought out he had a makeshift bandage wrapped around the end of his tail which was already bleeding through. Once he was home, I removed the bandage which was now completely soaked with blood and I was shocked how bad the wound looked - there was exposed bone sticking out and it was still bleeding profusely hours after the attack. We immediately took him to the Vet, where they did emergency surgery that night to amputate the two end bones of his tail in order to get enough skin to close the wound. After two months and nearly 2000 dollars in Vet bills, his tail has still not healed properly and he may need even more of his tail removed. Although I understand accidents can happen, we are very disappointed with the way this situation was handled by Watson's. Not only did they misrepresent what happened and the severity of our dog's injury, not one person from Watson's called to check on how he was doing or offered any kind of compensation for the Vet bills. We take our pets to places like Watson's because we believe they will be cared for and safe there. The way this incident was dealt with and the lack of concern from the staff at Watson's seems to show that they care more about the money than the well being of the animals themselves.

I called about bringing my 3 month old puppy for the 2 hour play sessions and was told “NO” when asked what kind of puppy she was. I left my name number for the owner to call me back as the reason was very unclear and I wanted to understand. I have owned many different kinds of dogs all my life and I thought this must be a misunderstanding, the receptionist seemed new. So I tried again a month later by stopping in and again was told “Oh sorry no” when asked what breed. I left a message but again no return call, no email back, just big ignore. I have since learned that yes they do discriminate based on breed! I guess that explains why the owner made no attempt to return my messages or explain. I would never bring my puppy or any puppy to a place that is so uneducated about dogs! Not to mention, horrible business etiquette. This is a big red flag no matter what breed you have!
Used Watson's Hound Lounge for my dog's first ever day care (visiting from Calgary). The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable during drop-off and pick-up. My dog was super happy when I picked him up and obviously very well treated during his day there - thank you!
After just 2 days my golden retriever.....yes a golden retriever was expelled from this day care facility. He is a 9 month old puppy. Yes he gets excited, but we watched him for 2 days on their web cams and no interaction was given, no toys or ball throwing. The staff just walk around on their phones. My golden came home and drank a full bowl of water as he was so thirsty. He was accused of jumping on other dogs but they jumped on him too. I have the recordings. I have just received a very rude and abrupt email from the owner Laura. So unprofessional. They didnt give him a chance at all just kicked him out of their facility. As I look down at other peoples reviews we are not the first and probably not the last. There are plenty of good day care places in this city. Please do not take your dog here they do not care for them at all. I would not recommend them. Now onto Yelp to make sure everyone knows how our experience went.
They take great care of my dog, know who he is when we walk in the door, and you can look at the cameras throughout the day to check on them. Great place overall!
