Its a large site, a former Royal Palace and important site in early Scottish history. Not much left standing but the views are impressive and you can see why the site was important strategically

Ruins of a former castle. Its a nice find as a stop off on the way to finding the next place but not worth setting as a destination as theres only 3 or so small sections of wall remaining on a hill thats reclaimed by nature. I liked finding it but many wouldn't he too impressed.
an ideal location to get away from it all and feel like you're in one of the best places in the world, because you will be and you won't know until you've been. dress up or down, we always dress casual so that we can enjoy the spacious grounds, spectacular with amazing wild birds, simply beautiful any day.
Ancestral home left to decay forever !
Dramatic ruins, all that remains of a giant of medieval Borders as Roxburghe town vanished long ago. Not much left after King James 1V destroyed the magnificent castle - killing himself in the process - but the great stones and their beautiful setting between Tweed and Teviot are haunting.
Theres a good walk in and around Roxburgh castle. At the back of the castle there is a good walk along the river. Hope your fit
My favourite plz e to go.
