I had a 2 out of 3 decent king salmon guides and experiences with them. But I had an incredible experience with Captain Chris in homer for halibut. The first day was over the top with fishing and and he has a passion for us and bringing the best experience and to his trips. There were several times that we had issues with the anchor winch unfortunately three hours from home or they were able to resolve it each time. One of the people on board fishing was one of the sales people for his outfit. She got to witness the frustration of them and us firsthand. The second day was a disaster because the winch failed three hours from homer. After 30 minutes of lost fishing time Captain Chris said we have to head back to within 45 minutes of Homer and we’re going to have to settle for smaller halibut! Well he did make a refund of my trip cost. I come to find out that Chris was fired without any explanation. It’’s pretty clear to me that Jimmy had egg on his face and his ego got in the way. I also came to find out that the winch was new and that it was exact opposite that Captain Chris had told him would be the best for being out there in the ocean. I have a lot of friends, family and patients that are booked out past this season and I will be informing them to do their best to cancel those And as I have friends that live up there we will find them better place to go. Don’t trust the man behind the curtain

Captain Perry & Jimmie Jack’s is the best!!! We happened to get really blessed landing with this boat!!! We booked with Rod N Reel one year in advance and found out the day before our fishing trip that their boat broke down. Rod N Reel called other companies to help figure out if anyone had a boat for our party of four. It was suppose to be Captain Perry’s day off and he had been working for some 30 plus days straight, anyway he agreed to take us out for the day, so we got lucky! These guys are class acts! Know-one called us and told us about any issues out of our control to ruin our arrival to Alaska. We just got a simple message to show up at this boat slip at 7am. Wasn’t until the next day I heard what happened. Bless Jimmie Jack’s for this once in a lifetime experience for our children. Captain Perry for stepping up and coming in on his day off!!! My husband and I came out last year and decided next year to rent an RV and bring our teenagers with us to go fishing. 1600 is a lot of money to shell our only to find out the boat broke and sorry but here’s a refund! We would have been devastated!!! We had been planning this family vacation for over 8 months and everything was around this fishing trip. Our kids can’t stop talking about how much fun they had! We all limited on Halibut and now have a freezer full to enjoy at home in CA and remind us of our epic day together. Captain Perry made sure everyone had a good time! Can’t wait to bring our kids back next year and see Captain Perry! We are just so impressed with the teamwork both of these companies displayed to assure our trip was a success!!!!
If you are going to fish Alaska, you won't find a finer outfit than Jimmie Jack Fishing! From start to finish, only the best! This was my fifth trip and it won't be my last! The Signature Seven package is all you could ever want to sample fishing Alaska!
Booked a last minute (literally the day before) halibut trip and couldn't ask for a better experience. I've fished all over and can say with full confidence that Captain Perry and his deck mate Andy are top notch. With some formidable weather approaching, they followed a reserve plan that resulted in limits of fish and a great time had by all. The gear was top notch and Captain Perry & Andy knew when to step in to assist us. Even if we had not caught fish, this would still be a five star review; professional crew, professional gear, and professional results.

Best trip I’ve ever been on, great fishing and staff was great! All I had to worry about was catching monster fish. They provide everything you need to enjoy fishing and a vacation at the same time. Will come again!! Alaska is beautiful and the fishing is incredible. Worth the money!
