Good for kids
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
The grotto area itself is pretty small. However, there are lots of picnic tables, open grassy fields and trails at St. Edward State Park. There's a cool wooden playground structure for younger kids and they've added access to an additional \parking lot\ that's near the grotto. There's a paved access road that goes in a loop through the park. Sometimes the larger metal gate to that loop is closed and cars cannot drive through. However, its nice for strollers or mobility-impaired people to be able to use the paved area.

Beautiful park. It has a nice trail that's easy for adults and kids. The views are also very nice.
A great State Park for a good short hike down to Lake Washington and back. Dogs Okay, but must be on leash. Trails are narrow and lots of kids depending on the day. No parking at Bastyr University allowed. Best to use State Park parking lot.
I took the north trail down to the water and the much more difficult south trail back. It was pretty muddy because of the recent rain and there were also a lot of roots, so please be aware if you’re not too steady on your feet. I was glad to have my hiking boots on. I could hear owls and birds and saw a bald eagle down by the water.
This grotto is a little hidden from view, but so so magical when you find it!
