My mom has been a resident of Summerstone for 2 years. I have had previous experience as a long term care and hospice chaplain. Overall I must say we are extremely blessed and our mom is fortunate to be at SS. Summerstone is clean and they have done well in managing the Covid infection rates. Dietary has been very flexible and helpful in allowing meal selections from the menu. The key person is the Administrator who is an extremely compassionate and veteran in long term care experience. And no the pandemic has not been ideal and my mom has suffered from isolation. But the facility now has the rapid test machine and if the resident qualifies they will facilitate Compassionate Care visits as outlined by the Federal and State CMS DHHS Guidelines. LTC is a tough job as a caregiver and always understaffed, but there have been the same caregivers and medical personnel caring for my mom the entire time. Yes. I would recommend Summerstone.

My mother in law was there a month ago for physical therapy. She was treated well by the therapy people they helped her so much. She had 2 major complaints: 1- they did not give her the medication that she was taking at home. She went thru terrible withdrawal because of it. 2- the food was terrible. She was vomiting after several meals. Our personal opinion as family members is that it's totally under staffed. There are 2 employees that were awesome. The case worker and one male CNA first name starts with an \A\ they were both very kind and helpful. But getting anything done after 5 or on weekends is like pulling teeth. It's really terrible. Yes we would use them again but only because the other choices were much worse. Please do something about the food these people need good nutrition.

Nice facility. Father is adjusting well . Staff is very caring.Administrator is easy to talk to, he gave us his cell phone #. Hoping this will continue to be a positive experience.
