I wanted to purchase a day pack and headed down from St Niklausen to Kerns. I wondered whether I'd have to go to Sarnen or even Luzern to get what I wanted but I didn't. Between my version of Swiss German (which exists of about 10 words) and my attempt at a universal sign language, I communicated with the wonderful salesperson. She went to great lengths to work out what in hell I was saying and then picked the perfect backpack for me. I've used it on a number of day hikes and it was so comfortable. I'll have to update this at a later date as I can't tell you what the backpack was as I've stored it in Switzerland, but it's not available in Australia... I wish it was. Anyway, far too long story short. Great store, warm service, great products and I am extremely satisfied with the overall outcome.
