Khammam railway station (station code:KMT) is a railway station located in Khammam district of Telangana, India. The station is served by Indian Railways and is well connected by rail to all parts of India. 98 trains arrive at or depart from the station every day, transporting over one lakh sixty thousand (160,000) passengers daily to their destinations across the country. Khammam railway station was declared second cleanest in the 'A' category stations.Khammam railway station is the one of the biggest and busiest railway stations in the south central railway system. The station has two platforms serving five tracks, one of which serves goods only.

This place is packed and busy and full of life. The building is interesting. The selection of trains and platforms is huge and you can travel all over the India. The shops are many and fun - I even found a great little book shop - and the trains runs from the very rich to the dirt poor sleeping on platforms. The area surrounding the station is even busier. Trains still take you everywhere and they are cheap.I am usually will travel to Hyderabad by Train and Khammam station will be a nice experience . Budget Hotels are near by and they are fine and it is good Experience. Basic facilities like rest rooms, pharmacy, health care, restaurants are available here.Improvement should be made for hassle free walk right from entrance to the concerned platform, as we find many people sitting or sleeping in the open hall leading to the platforms..

Not bad good for waiting somewhat peaceful .....but sometimes very rush depends on the travelling seasons..

Good place need to update electronic screens for platform numbers.Need to bring innovative changes like restaurant,book stalls etc.a lot of changes can be made.khammam is slowly moving towards industrialization so please bring neccessary amenities as early as possible.
